Nepal edge Scotland by one wicket in last-ball thriller

Nepal pulled off a thrilling one-wicket win over Scotland in the 73rd match of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 at Forthill, Dundee in Scotland on Monday, chasing down 297 runs with one ball to spare.
Chasing the target, Nepal were in deep trouble at 192-7, but Karan KC’s unbeaten 65 off 41 balls turned the match on its head. The allrounder struck three fours and four sixes in his counterattacking knock and was named Player of the Match for also taking 2-43 with the ball.
Kushal Bhurtel gave Nepal a brisk start with 53 off 44 balls, but regular wickets kept Scotland in the game. Bhim Sharki (40), Rohit Paudel (37), and Gulsan Jha (42 off 30) made key contributions in the middle order. Despite a late stumble, Karan KC and Rijan Dhakal (1) held their nerve to guide Nepal to 297-9 in 49.5 overs.
Scotland’s bowlers kept the match tight. Brandon McMullen led with 3-47 from 10 overs, while Michael Leask (2-40), Jack Jarvis (2-42), and Mark Watt (1-53) picked up key wickets. Jasper Davidson also claimed one.
Earlier, Scotland posted 296-7 after being put in to bat. Charlie Tear top-scored with 80 from 72 balls, supported by Finlay McCreath’s 55 and Richie Berrington’s 40. Karan KC, Sompal Kami and Rijan Dhakal took two wickets each for Nepal, while Sandeep Lamichhane chipped in with one wicket.
