Kantipur Television has been appointed as the official broadcasting partner for the second edition of the Indoor Super League (ISL), Nepal’s first franchise-based indoor cricket tournament. The tournament is scheduled to take place from September 7 to 13.

All matches will be broadcast live on Kantipur Television following an agreement signed on Monday between the organiser—Kathmandu Sports Events Pvt Ltd—and the Kantipur Media Group. The organisers stated that the collaboration aims to make the second edition grander, better managed and at par with international standards.

The memorandum of understanding was signed by Jyoti Bhandari, managing director of Kathmandu Sports Events Pvt Ltd, and Sagar KC, business head of Kantipur Media Group. ISL Technical Director Rabindra Gupta and Kantipur Media Group Marketing Manager Anupam Adhikari were also present during the ceremony.

Following the agreement, Bhandari stated that their goal is to give the ISL international recognition beyond domestic borders. “Our vision is to elevate the Indoor Super League to an international level,” he said. “We are confident that this edition will be superior to the previous one in terms of sport, entertainment, and management.”

The upcoming edition will feature 10 franchise teams. To add further glitz, the organisers revealed that American host, singer, and songwriter Sheis Floyd will be visiting Nepal to host the tournament. Floyd, who gained popularity among Nepali supporters during the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Dallas, US, will anchor the second edition of the ISL.

The organisers have already completed the player auction, and appointed national women’s volleyball team spiker Usha Bhandari as the brand ambassador. Originally slated to begin on September 2, the tournament was pushed back by a week due to technical reasons.

As many as 10 teams are competing in the tournament—Kathmandu Kailash Kings, Sudurpaschim Tigers, Pokhara Warriors, Maya Hetauda Royals, Mixmandu, Butwal Empire, Lalitpur All Stars, Lumbini Yorkers, Janakpur Kings and Biratnagar Battalion.
