Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee has set a new T20I world record by surpassing West Indies’ Marlon Samuels for the most consecutive innings without being dismissed for a duck.
In the ongoing quadrangular T20I series in Hong Kong, Airee achieved the feat in Nepal’s match against Kuwait on Thursday, having now gone 66 successive innings without a duck.
Airee’s key contribution helped Nepal secure victory in the match, as he scored 31 runs from just 12 balls. Gulsan Jha finished the game with two boundaries in the 19th over.
Airee also holds the record for the fastest T20I half-century, scoring 50 runs off just nine balls against Mongolia.
