On Sunday, residents of Dhangadhi were treated to a scintillating concert by Nepal’s legendary folk-rock band Nepathya. It was the band’s sixth concert of their nationwide tour, ‘Music for Humanity’. The concert opened with the screening of two music videos, and then the band performed ‘Aaganai Bhari’, ‘Bheda Ko Un Jasto’, and ‘Chhekyo Chhekyo’.
‘Music for Humanity’ aims to support Manavsewa Ashram, a social organisation which provides shelter to the homeless. And during the Dhangadhi concert, Nepathya’s lead singer, Amrit Gurung, time and again talked about the works done by Manavseva Ashram and urged everyone to serve humanity.
According to the organisers, towards the end of the concert, when the band started singing ‘Gaun Gaun Bata Utha’, the entire crowd in the Dhangadhi Stadium started tapping their feet, making the atmosphere magical.
Gurung was assisted by Dhruv Lama on drums, Suraj Lama on keyboards, Subin Shakya on bass, Niraj Gurung on guitar, and Shanti Raimajhi on madal.
Next, the band will perform in Birendranagar on December 21, in Butwal on December 24, in Pokhara on December 27, and in Kathmandu on December 31.
