Two students from Nepal bagged the premier High Distinction Award in the Shenmo International Abacus and Arithmetic tournament, which took place at Punggol in Singapore earlier this week.
A fourth grader from The Chandbagh School, Riwaj Man Karmacharya, and a sixth grader from Maitri School, Prajwal Dangol, brought the awards home.
The programme, co-organised by Shenmo Education Center and Buddha’s Light Association, saw the partcipation of 245 students, representing countries like Nepal, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, and the United States, among others.
This was Nepal’s first ever participation in the Mathematical tournament.
