A three-day workshop focusing on the folk arts in Kohalpur and its outskirts is currently ongoing in the city.
Organised by the Folk Arts department of the Nepal Academy, the workshop features about two dozen artists, art experts, and government officials.
The event on Wednesday saw artist and assembly member of Nepal Academy SC Suman present a paper of Mithila folk arts, its origin, development and current condition. “Mithila arts is on the rise. It has retained its audience in Nepal and its popularity is gradually spreading across the world as well. The need of the hour is to proliferate its development and reach,” Suman said.
The workshop ends on Friday.
