This edition of the fest will feature around two dozen plays from around the country, representing cities such as Banepa, Pokhara, Surkhet, Baglung, and Hetauda, among others.
“While the number of drama enthusiasts is growing as ever around the country, many such enthusiasts are cornered, owing to the lack of space and resources,” said Raj Shah, co-ordinator of the fest, “Our target is such group of theatre enthusiasts.”
Shah added, “With the fest, we hope that those enthusiasts will come to the fore and keep on doing what they love to do. We are buoyed by the participation in the event last year, which saw the staging of four dozen plays, which is testament to how the theatrical activities are on the rise in various districts.”
Later this year, the Theatre is also organising Drishyamsha, a mobile short film fest, featuring very short films of three minutes or less.
The ten-minute drama fest will continue till January 8.
The staging will take place every day, starting at 4:30 pm.
