Focusing on the theme ‘Recognising and respecting female power’, the exhibit will feature over 500 portraits of women who have significantly contributed to their fields of work across history.
The featured women range from Sita and Bhrikuti to CNN hero Anuradha Koirala, writer Jhamak Kumari Ghimire, and President Bidhya Devi Bhandari.
The exhibit will celebrate women in three categories: The pioneering women, the distinguished women, and the courageous women.
Releasing a press statement this week, the organisers shared that the exhibition has a couple of objectives. The exhibition’s primary objective is to document, preserve, and display various artefacts and photographs that reflect the glorious women of Nepal. The organisers then aim to publish a picture book that illustrates the stories of these women so as to set examples and spread awareness among a larger audience.
The exhibition which is slated to begin 100 days from today will run from March 8 to 14, at Nepal Art Council.
