Author and public speaker Prem Rawat’s book Splitting the Arrow: Understanding the Business of Life is now available in Nepali.
The Nepali version of the book, titled Tirko Lakshya, was launched amid a function held in Kathmandu over the weekend. The book was unveiled by cultural expert Satya Mohan Joshi.
Splitting the Arrow is a self-help book that features the author’s practical advice on love, life and relationships, and also features several anecdotes and stories. “In order to build harmonious relationships with others and a peaceful society we first need to be at peace with ourselves,” Rawat writes at one point in the book. The book is illustrated by Aya Shiroi.
Speaking at the function organised for the release of the Nepali version of the book, cultural expert Joshi said that he was overwhelmed by the book, for “it presents complex ideologies and philosophies in simple yet scientific manner.” Joshi added, “The book is easy to read and features practical advice that can be helpful to people from all walks of life... I lament the fact that the book took so long to be translated into Nepali. But now that it’s here, I’d like to thank the publisher and translator.”
Journalist Murari Bhandari, speaking at the event, said that he first got to listen to author Rawat live in Kathmandu a few years ago. “I was impressed by his simplicity in presenting thoughts and his vision of a good life. The Nepali version of the book retains author Rawat’s vision.”
Indian-American public speaker Rawat is a proponent of a meditational practice which he calls “Knowledge”. His teachings are based on the discovery of personal resources such as inner strength, choice, appreciation, and hope.
