“The plays should run for ten minutes or less and should use only a minimal settting and props,” the organisers said in a press release.
According to the organisers, the fest is organised every year in view of growing enthusiasm and scope for theatre in Nepal.
“The youth in Nepal today are very interested in theatre and are ready to experiment with the genre, but due to the lack of enough funding and space, they are compelled to stay in the sidelines,” said Ashesh Malla, founder and director of Sarwanam, “The festival primarily aims to provide a platform for them to explore their talents.”
The upcoming event is the third iteration of the fest. “Buoyed by the response we received from the first two editions, where we staged over 60 plays, we are really excited about the event,” said Raj Shah, coordinator of the fest.
The deadline for submissions is December 1.
