Pandit’s work as the Minister of General Administration in the Sushil Koirala-led government received significant attention and acclaim from the public.
“I saw corruption and malpractices everywhere in government offices after I became a minister and hence I thought the process of change needs to start from within... I have sincerely put forward the work carried out during my tenure as a minister in the book,” said Pandit, speaking prior to the book announcement. He added, “I hope people who are committed to change and reform will find the book interesting.” Pandit has co-written the book with journalist Mukesh Pokhrel.
The book starts with Pandit receiving a call from the CPN (UML) party chairman informing him on being nominated for a ministerial post, while he was commuting in a public bus in Kathmandu, and ends with him leaving the government quarters back to his rented apartment. “Sharing your life story is putting yourself on trial,” Pandit shared. “I leave it up to the readers to judge and decide.”
Publisher Nepalaya informed that the book will hit stores begining the first week of November.
