This past week, Prashant Smriti Samaj, a fine-arts foundation established in the memory of artist Prashant Shrestha, announced a scholarship grant—Prashant Pratibha Scholarship.

The scholarship will be provided to three students from three fine-arts campuses in Kathmandu—Lalit Kala Campus, Sirjana College of Fine Arts and Kathmandu University Center for Fine Arts and Design. Each best-scoring student from the three campuses will receive a cash purse of Rs 15, 000, with medals and certificates, it was announced.

This past Friday, the Samaj felicitated the three receipient of this year’s scholarship grant, amid a function organised at Nepal Arts Council. The three receipients are: Pradip Paul Saud, from Lalit Kala Campus; Chhiring Chhambel Sherpa from Sirjana College; and Sushanka Kalapremi Shrestha from KU Center for Fine Arts and Design.

The function also marked the opening of an exhibition featuring works by the late Prashant Shrestha. The exhibit closed on Sunday.
