Musician Raiman Rai passes away
Singer/musician Raiman Rai, who championed and helped popularise a unique flavour of folk-adhunik music in the east, was found dead in Dharan on Tuesday. Rai, 38, killed himself by hanging in his aunt’s home in Srijana Chowk-11, in Dharan, the police said. He was suffering from a mental debaliation since long, his friends said.bookmark

Singer/musician Raiman Rai, who championed and helped popularise a unique flavour of folk-adhunik music in the east, was found dead in Dharan on Tuesday.
Rai, 38, killed himself by hanging in his aunt’s home in Srijana Chowk-11, in Dharan, the police said. He was suffering from a mental debaliation since long, his friends said.
Rai has two albums of eastern lok-adhunik songs to his credit—Manan and Mix.
Active in the music scene since more than a decade-and-half, Rai has lent his voice to about two dozen songs—in the likes of popular numbers like Maya Timi, Ma ta Timi Sanga, Purba Ramro Mechi Koshi, and Hami ta Nepali, among others.
Rai’s dead body is currently in BP Koirala Health and Science Academy in Marchari House.
