Joshi honoured with Yatri Wangmaya Award
The Purna Prakash Nepal Yatri Research Centre honoured eminent litterateur and culture expert Satya Mohan Joshi with the Yatri Wangmaya Honour amid a ceremony held in the Capital on Tuesday.The Purna Prakash Nepal Yatri Research Centre honoured eminent litterateur and culture expert Satya Mohan Joshi with the Yatri Wangmaya Honour amid a ceremony held in the Capital on Tuesday. At the event, Laxmi Subedi was conferred with the Yatri Bidhyapadak prize. The awards were handed over jointly by former prime minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and chancellor of Nepal Academy Ganga Prasad Uprety.
The event was organised to commemorate author/historian Yatri’s 84th birth anniversary.
Speaking at the event Uprety said, “Hailing from the rural village of Bhojpur, Yatri contributed much to Nepal’s history and archaeology, especially that of the western
Nepal, which as we all know is no easy feat.”
“When it comes to excavating the regional history, Yatri comes second to none. It feels good to receive an award of his name,” said Joshi.
