The Presenters’ Club, an association which aims to provide a platform for upcoming speakers to share their views and ideas, organised a discussion programme at Wicked Spoon Fork and Rock Restaurant in Jhamsikhel, Lalitpur, on Wednesday.

Mentored by Prashant Manandhar, a co-founder of the Club, the event saw four presenters—Bikash Paneru, Dibya Jyoti Pokharel, Prasanna Shrestha and Riju Joshi—showcase presentations on diverse subjects.

“Presenters’ Club was formed with one basic purpose: to provide a platform for emerging speakers, to come together, showcase presentations and share views and ideas,” Manandhar said, speaking to the Post. “Two years back, when the club was founded, only a few people seemed to know the concept. Now, however, that seems to have changed in some measures. Today, more and more people seem to be drawn into the concept, and they sound genuinely interested to learn the basics of presentation and to improve their speaking skills.”

Borrowing cues from ‘The Storytellers’—another such platform where successful people from various walks of life share their success stories—the Club, said Manandhar, allows speakers to share their views and perspectives on a diverse range of subjects. But unlike The Storytellers, The Presenters’ Club doesn’t have successful people on board, but commoners who just have a story to tell.

At the eighth iteration of the event, presenters from various areas of expertise shared their opinions. Prasanna Shrestha, one of the presenters, spoke on the topic “Where Do I Belong.” Shrestha shared his personal reflections on identity.

“Presentation is an important part of speaking,” Manandhar added, “It has the power to make you or break you. Speaking reflects your confidence and speaking with presentations gives your speech a professional air.” The event takes place every alternate Wednesday.
