An art workshop, Harmony, which features more than two dozen artists and enthusiasts from four countries, has kicked off at Mithila Yain Art Gallery, in Thamel.

Organised by BK Art Gallery “to create a harmony between the veterans and novices of art sphere,” the workshop has been inaugurated by senior artist Radheshyam Mulmi.

“We need to come together more often, as I believe, frequent conversations and workshops can play a role in making the art scene sustainable, prosperous,” Mulmi said. “Interacting with our foreign counterparts is also crucial, since it gives an overview of the contemporary art scene in the world and let’s the world know about our own.”

Artist Sudarshan Bikram Rana, speaking at the event, said, “Workshops like this come as a reminder that art can go on to bring harmony and peace in the world.”

Meanwhile, senior Indian artist Sanjida Khatum said that arts, by bringing people closer and together, can play bridge for human connection and hence, holds significance for years, even eras, to come.

The workshop features artists from Nepal, Germany, France and India.

Representing Nepal at the workshop are artists such as Gehendraman Amatya, Dhanu Yakha, D Ram Palpali, Mahesh Acharya, Devendra Thumkeli, and Jyoti BK, among others. Other artists to partake in the event are Vincent Graby (from France), Ingo Pichok (from Germany), Sanjay Sahani and  Sanjeeda Khanam (from India).
