The event was organised by Nepal Dynamic Running Club, which was appointed as an official supporter in Nepal by the New York Runners, the umbrella organisation which minted the Running Day in 2009.
“We believe that by running, we can create a unique bond. Runners’ community is now a burgeoning community in Nepal, growing by day. It’s a platform where one shares their passion with fellow runners,” said Sahadev Byanjankar, secretary at Nepal Dynamic Running Club. “The main objective of the event is to inspire people, to make new friends, to motivate people to live fit and healthy lives, and, in essence, to have fun.”
The event this year saw 103 participants—a rise from just 17 last year.
