An exhibition of photos taken by the late Toni Hagen, the pioneer of Swiss development cooperation to Nepal, has opened at the International Mountain Museum at Ratopaihra, Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City-17.

The exhibition will run for three months. It includes 105 photos that Hagen clicked at different places in Kathmandu and Pokhara six decades back. The photos are especially of the Himalayan region.

Former Vice Chancellor of Kathmandu University, Dr Suresh Raj Sharma inaugurated the photo exhibition. Dr Sharma said the late Hagen has made a notable contribution to the development of education and industrial sector.

Dr Katrin Hagen, daughter of the late Toni Hagen, said the photos have enlivened the past and the exhibition should be made accessible to the general public.

Chairman of the Toni Hagen Foundation, Prof Pramod Kumar Jha shared that the late Hagen had traversed some 40 thousand kilometres distance covering the 75 districts of the country.

President of Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) presided over the opening programme. Coordinator of the Museum Shantabir Lama expressed that the exhibition has raised the prestige of the mountain museum. RSS
