An evening with Kathak maestros
Jayshree Music Society, a non-profit established in 2008 with an aim to promote classical music among Nepali youth, is organising a cultural event, titled Kathak Rhythms and Expressions, on Feb 10, at Nepal Academy Hall, in the Capital.Jayshree Music Society, a non-profit established in 2008 with an aim to promote classical music among Nepali youth, is organising a cultural event, titled Kathak Rhythms and Expressions, on Feb 10, at Nepal Academy Hall, in the Capital.
The event will feature noted Indian Kathak artist Shikha Khare, a popular artist previously featured on the Doordarshan Network. Accompanying Khare on stage is Nepali instrumentalist Rabin L Shrestha. The programme will also feature dancers from Nritya Aagan and a host of other local artists.
The event will be inaugurated by State Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Indra Bahadur Baniya. Along with a number of performances, the show will also see a jam session with traditional Nepali instruments like Madal, Dhime and Khin.
