After releasing 2 tracks—Koshi ko Pani and Rama Rama—from the 10th Album on YouTube, Nepathya have now released their third single "Sirfula Siraima" in leading digital music stores.

The radio release of the song was earlier done through select radio stations.

Sirfula is a lyrical travelogue which potrays the essence of the hills and mountains of western Nepal. The traveler here is none other than, Nepathya’s front man Amrit Gurung, and the story is from his travelogue of spring 2013. 

Starting from Kami Danda of Falgune Lekh in Rukum, Amrit had trekked a non-regular route through Yamkhar, Maikot, Hukaam and then following the Uttar Ganga river he traversed through Birgun, Taksera, Damchan, Dhorpatan and Jaljala and ended the trip in Beni. 

“Spring is a wonderful season to walk through these landscapes. From lush green pasture valleys to hills painted with red rhododendron and snow falls in the higher passes, all can be experienced within few days,” recalls Amrit. While wandering through these hills, sleeping along the roadside tea shop and local shelters, Amrit started murmuring few words and the melody of Sirfula came into being.

“I was expecting to meet someone who could sing the original Sirfula melody in the villages I reached. Unfortunately I could not come across anyone,” said Amirt. “But the words started popping up in my mind and the local Sirfula melody, I had heard during my childhood days started surfacing. Hence the song took this form.” 

As the trend of physical album sales is becoming obsolete, Nepathya has opted for digital single release of the songs from the 10th album.  “We tried with YouTube release for Koshiko Paani and Rama Rama and the response was great,” said Kiran Krishna Shrestha of Nepathya’s management company nepa~laya. “We are now trying audio releases of this song on digital audio platforms,” he added.
