Family sources said that Adhikari was found hanging from his belt inside the bathroom.
The 30-year-old rapper was living with his wife and in-laws at Ruislip in South Harrow, London.
On Friday, he came home after finishing a work at the Royal Mail.
According to a family source, Adhikari went to bed along with his wife, Asmita Sedhai, 25, around 12 am after having dinner. Later, at around 3 am, he went to the bathroom.
It was only at around 6 am when another person staying with them wanted to use the restroom found it locked and after opening the doors using another set of spare keys found Adhikari hanging on the towel hanger of the bathroom.
“We are in shock as he was normal untill having dinner,” said a relative, “He might have been depressed since his works weren’t moving forward after 2012 when he was at the peak of his career.”
Yama Buddha was busy in recording for his latest album—Khatra—two days prior to the incident and had completed 15 percent of the recording. His album was due for release on January 15, said a relative.
A local club had also booked an event for the upcoming Valentines Day where Yama Buddha was set to perform.
The body of the deceased artist has been kept at harrow-based Northwick Park Hospital. A family source informed that the post mortem of the artist’s body will take place on Wednesday. His family in Kathmandu has also been informed about Adhikari’s demise.
Adhiakri’s father wants to perform the final rites of his only son in Nepal. Yama’s mother and sister are currently residing in Australia and his other sister is pursuing her PhD in the United States.
Nepali Embassy in London confirmed about the incident and informed that they are trying to get the details of the incident.
Originally from Morang, Adhikari was born on May 30, 1987 and is known for his songs— Mero Juttama, Saathi, Aaudaichu Ma, Footpath mero ghar, Yo prasanga, Didi, Antya ko Suruwat, Nachana, Aama among others.
