The show was organised by Bajaj Motorcycles on the occasion of Grand Finale of their bike reality show ‘Pulsar Dare Venture II’.
“This historic ground has witnessed many changes in Nepal,” said Nepathya front man Amrit Gurung to the crowd mixed with youth including dignitaries from various walks of life. “From this very historic venue, let us all be committed to start a new journey of change; change that will bring smile to the people of Nepal,” he appealed.
As scheduled, the show started with Nepathya performing their new number ‘Kuroop Anuhar ho…yahan kohi saathi chaina’.
After singing the song, Amrit shared with the audience, “This song was written by poet Sarubhakta 35 years ago, long before Nepathya and most of you were born.”
“I thank Nepathya for reviving this song,” shared Sarubhakta as he witnessed the live performance for the first time. “The use of chorus in the song has touched me the most,” he added.
As the show proceeded with spectacular blue shade of lights, the thumping of thousands of feet in Tundikhel gave rise to cloud of dust seen over the audience. Hinting to this Amrit said, “Kathmandu has lately been very dusty and smoggy. I still recall the fresh air in Kathmandu when I first came here to study during mid 80s. I wish Kathmandu regained that freshness.”
The show proceeded with back to back hit numbers like ‘Bhedako Oon’, ‘Chekyo Chekyo’, ‘Lampate Surati’, ‘Chari Maryo’ and ‘Jomsome Bazarma’.
Before closing the show with the Nepathya rendition of ‘Rato ra Chandra Surya’, Amrit said, “We need to remain united, as we are all Nepali first. Let us all pray and protect our symbol of unity, our flag; our Rato ra Chandra Surya.”
Also during the concert the Pulsar Dare Venture II winners were announced.
