Nepathya set to perform at Tundikhel on Saturday
Popular Nepali folk rock band Nepathya is scheduled to perform at Tundhikhel in Kathmandu this Saturday. The band which is popular for hit numbers like 'Chekyo chekyo', 'Bheda Ko Un Jasto', 'Resham' and 'Taal Ko Pani' is preparing to present Poet Sarubhakta’s song from 35 years ago to the ‘motorcycle generation’ of today.
Poet Sarubhakta said the song ‘Kuroop Anuhar Ho’ was written during the early 1980s. “I had conceptualised this song while I was in Pokhara and completed it in Kathmandu when I was a student at the Tribhuvan University," the poet shared.
Sarubhakta said that he looks forward to attending Nepathya’s concert at Tundikhel tomorrow, where they will be performing this song for the first time in Nepal.”
Though this is the first composition of Vikram Gurung for Nepathya, the band has sung several of Sarubhakta’s creation, which includes Saruma Rani, Yanimaya and Lampate Surati.
The concert is being organised by Bajaj Motorcycles to celebrate the Pulsar Dare Venture Grand Finale. Free passes for the concert are available from Bajaj Showrooms in Kathmandu.
