Regmi crowned Joy Papaya Glam Hunt winner
Shrijana Regmi was crowned the winner of Joy Papaya Glam Hunt 2014 in a gala grand finale organised at Soaltee Crown Plaza, Tahachal, on August 15.Regmi, a BBS graduate, beat 23 other finalists to win the title. She received a cheque for Rs 50,000 and was announced the brand ambassador of Joy Papaya Sun for 2014. An aspiring model, she loves swimming and extensive travelling. When asked about her other interests, she said, “I am not a fanatic of outdoor sports. I am into chess and was a chess champion in college.” Regmi also bagged the award for the ‘Perfect Walk’.
Smriti Dahal, who also won the ‘Best Smile’ award, was announced the first runner-up. Likewise, Aastha Karki was the second runner-up. Dahal and Karki received cheques for Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000, respectively.
Rojyna Shrestha won the ‘Best Hair’ award, while twin sisters Monisha and Monika Karmacharya shared the award for ‘Best Skin’. Ritu Magar, Aashma KC and Ranju Thakuri were awarded with the ‘Perfect Figure’, ‘Most Photogenic’ and ‘Best Personality’ awards, respectively. Anita Chand bagged the ‘Popular Face in Facebook’ award, which was based on the number of likes on the contestants’ Facebook photos.
There was a plethora of activities, ranging from a Zumba dance performance and ramp walk to stand-up comedy, at the event. Contestants also performed two sequences with the designs of fashion designers Rasna Pradhan and Mamata Gurung Joshi. Moreover, as a part of the event, each of the 28 contestants was asked to deliver a short speech on the topic ‘Beauty with purpose’.
The judge panel included Kantipur Publication’s youth entrepreneur Sambhav Sirohiya, senior fashion photographer Raj Bhai Suwal, model and actor Anup Bikram Shahi, fashion designer Anu Shrestha, Miss Nepal 2013 Ishani Shrestha, fitness instructor Rosy Pun and actress Namrata Shrestha.
“The four-month-long journey from auditions to the finale was a well-planned and a well-executed one. We were able to carefully select 28 finalists from a pool of 700 contestants,” the event manager Prasant Tamrakar, CEO of Wiz International, said at the end of the event.
