Jhuma Limbu, Nhyoo Bajracharya win top honours at Radio Kantipur National Music Awards

Singer Jhuma Limbu and music director Nhyoo Bajracharya have won top honours at the eighth Xtreme Energy Radio Kantipur National Music Awards 2082, being held in the capital on Friday.
The awards ceremony is taking place at Radio Kantipur’s plaza premises in Pulchowk, Lalitpur, to mark the radio station’s 28th anniversary. Awards are being presented in categories including best lyricist, music director, playback singer, modern singer, folk singer, pop singer and band.
Limbu has received the Best Playback Singer (Female) award for her song ‘Kafle’, while Bajracharya has been honoured with the Best Music Director award for ‘Kasto Nasha’.
In the folk music categories, Arjun Sapkota has won the Best Folk Singer (Male) award for ‘Jhaliko’, while Devi Gharti Magar has received the Best Folk Singer (Female) award for ‘Yanimaya’.
Narayan Kumar Acharya has been named Best Lyricist for the song ‘Sunchhau Malai Kasam’. The Best New Singer award has gone to Dileshwar Pariyar for ‘Mutu Jalepachhi’.
The anniversary event also featured a musical performance by singer Samriddhi Rai.
