Post Report
In celebration of its 30th anniversary, The Hidden Treasure announced the launch of a new competition, ‘Designer of The Year’ (DOTY). This initiative aims to provide a platform for fashion designers, students, and aspiring amateurs to showcase their creativity and passion for fashion.
Auditions for the competition will take place in four major cities: Nepalganj, Pokhara, Biratnagar, and Kathmandu. 12 to 15 talented designers will be selected based on their sketches and garments presented during the auditions. These selected designers will have four to five weeks to prepare their final creations, receiving mentorship from industry experts.
Participants will benefit from guidance sessions with fashion designers, interactions with sewing machine specialists, fabric and accessories suppliers, and visits to garment factories. Each designer will create six to seven original designs and two to three designs specifically for The Hidden Treasure, including a National Costume and an Evening Gown.
A distinguished panel of five judges will evaluate the designs and select the winner. The champion of the DOTY competition will receive a cash prize of Rs150,000 and a high-tech JACK brand sewing machine. Moreover, the winning national costume will be worn by the Miss Nepal winner at international pageants.
Additionally, one model to walk on the ramp for DOTY will receive a direct entry as a contestant in the Miss Nepal 2025 pageant.
The grand finale of the competition will be held on April 12 at The Plaza, with the event being broadcast live on Kantipur TV.
