Ashra Kunwar to perform at the Tom Petty Festival

Singer, songwriter, and founder of the rock band Ashra and Parables, Ashra Kunwar, will perform at the Tom Petty Festival, which will take place from October 10 to 13 at Heartwood Soundstage in Gainesville, Florida, the US.
Kunwar will be the first Nepali artist to be invited to perform at the festival, honouring musician Tom Petty’s legacy.
Kunwar’s performance will be part of an annual event since 2017 to commemorate Tom Petty’s birthday. The festival will bring together fans and artists worldwide and pay tribute to Petty’s music.
Kunwar’s performance will include a mix of her original songs, such as ‘Aabash’ and ‘Bodhibrikshya’—the latter exploring themes of art, activism, and the environment. She will also perform some of Tom Petty's songs.
Kunwar says, “This is a dream come true for me. I always dreamt of representing Nepal on a global stage.” The fest will feature live performances from around 30 professional bands dedicated to preserving Tom Petty’s legacy.
The festival, supported by Visit Gainesville, Alachua County, will feature live performances, hometown tours, and activities dedicated to preserving Tom Petty’s legacy.
