Thamel Tourism Development Council announces ‘Thamel Nakha’
The festival is being organised on the occasion of the World Tourism Day on September 27.The 44th World Tourism Day will be celebrated in Thamel with the ‘Thamel Nakha’ festival.
The Thamel Tourism Development Council (TTDC), is collaborating with The Kathmandu Post for the festival. Set for September 27 2024, this event will transform the streets of Thamel into a carnival for culture, music, art, and cuisine.
A press meeting on Thursday provided a glimpse into the experiences awaiting tourists and locals. With seven experiential zones spread across Thamel, visitors will immerse themselves in a showcase of culture, cuisine, and music, making Thamel Nakha a memorable day.
Designed to embody the spirit of Thamel and its status as a hub for tourism, Thamel Nakha will offer a diverse array of experiences that celebrate Nepal’s cultural heritage while embracing modern influences.
Established in 1989, the Thamel Tourism Development Council (TTDC) has been a key player in promoting Thamel as a vibrant tourism centre. TTDC’s initiatives aim to systematise and elevate tourism activities in Thamel and Nepal, supporting the industry’s growth while preserving the area's cultural and historical significance.
