Kiran Man Chitrakar’s book ‘Nepal Remembered: Historical images from Dirgha Man and Ganesh Man Chitrakar’ was launched at an event in Kathmandu on Thursday.
The book features never-before-published photos by Dirgha Man Chitrakar (1877–1951) and Ganesh Man Chitrakar (1916–1985). The photos in the book focus on how photography in Nepal progressed from the Rana period to the post-Rana era.
The photos record how government and non-government organisations, and the general public embraced photography to document the changes sweeping across the country.
Images from the book are also on display at the Atrium at Yak and Yeti Hotel until September 6.
