Drum Jatra 2022 to begin on April 11

Drum Jatra 2022 (Kathmandu Percussion Festival) is set to begin on April 11.
The seven-day festival, according to the organisers will ‘celebrate the joys of percussion sounds from cultures around the world, and will feature a wide spectrum of percussion instruments performed by Nepal’s top drummers and international visiting artists in venues around the Kathmandu Valley.
Between March 11 and 17, the festival will host performances at seven different venues in Kathmandu and Lalitpur.
Some of the artists performing at the festival are Kiran Shahi, Folkmandu Society, Dhimey Girls, Cadenza Collective, Eduardo Mendonca (Brazil), and Guillermo Martín (Spain).
Since music education is one of the key goals of the festival, the first three days of the event will offer free masterclasses and workshops by drummers.
