The festival is organised by The Village Cafe in coordination with the Gastronomy Tourism Association of Nepal and is promoted by Nepal Tourism Board.
“Since we are in the midst of Indra Jatra, we decided to start this weekly festival with Newari food,” says Gajendra Malla, General Manager of The Village Cafe by Sabah Nepal.
The aim of the festival, say organisers, is to promote and celebrate Nepal’s indigenous cuisines.
“The Gastronomy Tourism Association of Nepal has been working for some time now to ensure that the festival covers cuisines from across the country,” says Malla.
The opening event of the festival at The Village Cafe by Sabah Nepal was attended by Navartana Baidhya, Member of Parliament from Kathmandu, Laxmi Sharma, entrepreneur, and Bijay Amatya, Chief Executive Officer of Kora Tours.
