Cabinet approves elections in two phases

EC had proposed two dates for election citing logistical management and weather. Government on August 21 had decided to hold the two elections on the same date-November 26.
Government Spokesperson and Minister for Information and Communications Mohan Bahadur Basnet informed media persons about Cabinet meeting.
The meeting also transferred secretary at Ministry of Land Reform and Management Krishna Raj Devkota to Ministry of Supplies. Shambhu Koirala has been send to Ministry of Land Reform and Management to replace Devkota. Similary, secretary Krishna Raj BC has been transferred to Ministry of Drinking Water and Maheshwor Neupane has been transferred to Tourism Ministry.
Minister Basnet also said the Cabinet meeting also discussed to remove Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and retain only the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) post.
The meeting also decided to take a loan of Rs 15 billion to improve customs offices across the country.
