The government of India has extended a financial assistance of Rs 44.30 million for Chhahari - Single Women Reintegration Center Building at Budhanilkantha Municipalityin Kathmandu District.
Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Ranjit Rae laid the foundation stone of the project being implemented by Kathmandu District Development Committee in consultation and coordination with the Women for Human Rights Single Women Group (WHR) amid a function held here on Monday.
Chhahari focuses on rehabilitation and reintegration of vulnerable widows through economic empowerment. The project aims to enable the WHR to help raising the status of widows from deprived and depended members to empowered economically independent women.
