National team and Nepal Army football team striker Nawayug Shrestha has been promoted to sergeant by Nepal Army.

Shrestha had played a vital role for the national football team when they won the Bangabandhu Gold Cup and SAG Men’s Football Gold.

NA Spokesperson Tara Bahadur Khatri said Shrestha was conferred with the insignia on Tuesday.
