A 15-year-old boy from Dhampanera, Mahakali Municipality ward 1 went missing while swimming with his friends in the Mahakali
river on Monday afternoon.
According to DSP Tarkaraj Pandey of the district police office, the boy was a grade ten student at Mahendra Namuna Secondary School, Khalanga.
Unofficial sources have said the boy was sighted around a kilometre away from the incident site.
A joint team of Nepal Police and Armed Police has been deployed for the search and rescue operation of the boy, said Pandey.
