Faldo Junior Tour Nepal Championship continues
Swapnil and Soham share the lead in the boys’ category, while Amelie and Avanie are tied at top in the girls’ section.Post Report
Swapnil Bhattarai and Soham Agrawal shared overall lead after the second round of Faldo Junior Tour Nepal Championship at par-68 Royal Nepal Golf Club on Thursday.
Bhattarai and Agrawal posted matching scores of 6-over 142 to share the overall lead. Prakrit Tamang is third at 9-over 145.
In the boys’ 17–21 years age category, Bhattarai opened up a three-stroke lead over Tamang. Bhattarai carded second straight 3-over 71 to post 36-hole total score of 6-over 142. Tamang also played 3-over 71 in the second round for a total score of 9-over 145.
Similarly, Satya Jot Rana and Siddhant Sapkota are tied for third at 155. Both Rana and Sapkota played 76 in the second round.
Ashray Basnyat, Vivash Dhoj Khand, Srijan Nagarkoti, Nirjal Shrestha, Sushant Kandel, Sharyan Basnyat and Ram Bhandari also made the cut in boys’ 17-21 age category.
Similarly, in the boys’ 12–16 years age category, Soham moved to the top with a total score of 6-over 142. He carded an even-par 68 in the second round and opened up a 9-stroke lead over overnight leader Reuben Thapa. Reuben played 10-over 78 for a total score of 15-over 151. Daniel Baniya remains a distant third at 165 after he shot 20-over 88 in the second round.

Dipson Lama, Wangyal Gyatso, Aaroha Neupane, Lucky Shiva, Ishan Shrestha, Aaradhya Tandan, Birshan Rai and Ayush Besfor are the other players who made the cut in the boys’ 12–16 years age category.
In the girls’ category, Amelie Lo Giudice and Avanie Rai shared the lead at 31-over 167. Lo Giudice fired 19-over 87 in the second round, while Rai shot 90. Yashwi Shrestha is third at 180 after she played 93 in the second round. Anvadya Malla withdrew from the tournament midway through the second round due to injury.
A total of 25 golfers—11 each in boys’ 17–21 age category and boys’ 12–16 age category along with three in girl’s section—made the cut for the final round. After the completion of 54 holes on Friday, winners of three categories will earn tickets to the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final to be held in Vietnam in March.
