Radio Kantipur’s road show 'Radio On Wheels' was held in Dhangadhi on Sunday. At the event organised at Park Mode, Bharat Bahadur Chand of Bela, in Dhangadhi Metropolitan City-11, won an attractive package including tickets to the Men's T20 Cricket World Cup in India in February-March.
Chand was selected through a lucky draw. However, as he was not present at the time of the announcement, he was informed of his win over the phone. He explained that he had to leave early due to household work and expressed regret at missing the moment. However, he said he was delighted that his long-held desire to watch a World Cup match would finally be fulfilled.
Often referred to as Nepal’s cricket city, Dhangadhi saw a large turnout throughout the event despite the cold weather, driven by the excitement surrounding the World Cup ticket package. Title sponsors Xtreme Energy Drinks and Max Tiger are providing a four-night and five-day World Cup package to one lucky winner from each of the 15 cities where the road show is being organised.
To enter the lucky draw, participants must attend the Radio On Wheels event and purchase Xtreme Energy Drinks or Max Tiger drinks to have their names included in the draw. Earlier, at the programme held in Nepalgunj on Saturday, local resident Tikaram Guragain had won a similar package including tickets to the upcoming T20 World Cup.
The event featured comedian Raja Rajendra Pokharel, who entertained the audience with humour and parody songs. Dancers Rosika Raut and Barsha Phuyal kept the crowd on their feet, while singer Bishwo Nepali performed more than a dozen of his hit songs. Singer Shiva Pariyar is also scheduled to join the road show from Pokhara.
The seventh edition of Radio On Wheels began on Saturday from BP Chowk in Nepalgunj. According to Radio Kantipur, the programme will be held on Monday afternoon at Ghantaghar Chowk in Surkhet.
