Rahul Bishwakarma, in 2025-26 season, gets a similar start to the previous tour

Surya Nepal Golf Tour’s eight tournaments begin with the Central Open. In the 2024-25 season, which took place from November 25 to 28 in 2024, amateur Rahul Bishwakarma clinched the title, which was his first professional title, at the Gokarna Forest Golf Resort.
And Bishwakarma, an amateur golfer, was again at the forefront at the Central Open in the 2025-26 season. Bishwakarma carded 4-under 68 to post the 72-hole score of 14-under 274, defeating pro Jayram Shrestha by 14 strokes to claim his third career title on Thursday.
Bishwakarma’s second title was during the Surya Nepal Premier Golf Championship, the last of the eight tournaments of the 2024-25 season.
“This win will have a big impact on my future as a golfer,” Bishwakarma had told the Post after he won his second career title on June 19 last year.
Bishwakarma began the final day of the 2025-26 Central Open with five strokes ahead of pro Jayram, and he extended the lead to eight shots after the front nine. He carded four birdies on the second, third, eighth and ninth holes against a lone bogey on the fifth hole. After the turn, Bishwakarma made birdies on the 12th and 15th holes before dropping a shot on the 17th hole.
Pro Shrestha took the turn at even-par 36. He began the round with back-to-back birdies on the first and second holes before facing shots on the third and seventh holes. He endured a difficult back nine, shooting 5-over 41 after he faced bogeys on the 10th, 12th, 14th, 15th and 16th holes.
Bishwakarma bagged Rs170,000 alongside the title.
A total of 37 pros and 25 amateurs took part in the tournament, with the top 18 golfers bagging cash rewards.
