Chitwan Rhinos have set a 121-run target for Pokhara Avengers in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) at the TU International Cricket Stadium in Kirtipur in Saturday’s day-night match.
Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Chitwan posted 120 runs for the loss of six wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Both teams are already out of the playoff race, leaving the match without tournament significance, though each side will be looking to end their campaign with a win.
For Chitwan, Dev Khanal top-scored with 35, while Uganda’s Alpesh Ramjani, making his NPL debut, remained unbeaten on 33 off 22 balls. Captain Kushal Malla contributed 23, and Saif Zaib added 17.
Chitwan had a shaky start, losing three wickets for just seven runs. Khanal and Zaib then steadied the innings with a 38-run stand. After Zaib’s dismissal, Khanal added another 25 runs with captain Malla for the fifth wicket. Following Khanal’s departure, Malla and Ramjani built a 39-run partnership for the sixth wicket.
With the ball, Pokhara’s Dhananjaya Lakshan took three wickets for 20 runs from 3.4 overs. Bipin Khatri, Rohit Chand and Kiran Thagunna claimed one wicket each.
