Nepal played out a 1-1 draw against Bhutan in a Women’s U-19 international friendly held on Sunday at the Dasharath Stadium.
Sushila KC opened the scoring for Nepal with a brilliant strike from outside the penalty area in the 47th minute. However, this goal did not prove decisive, as Bhutan’s Phuntsho Choden equalised in the 80th minute.
The match also featured a crucial defensive effort by Nepal’s defender Simran Rai, who made a spectacular goal-line clearance with a header in the 20th minute, denying Bhutan’s Choki Om from scoring. Apart from this, both teams failed to create significant attacking opportunities in the first half.
In their previous Women’s U-16 friendly, Bhutan had defeated Nepal 5-1.
