Sankata cruise past Chitlang with hattrick from Onyema
Laligurans Association Club and Friends’ Club Kopundole settled for a 1-1 draw in the other match of the day.Post Report
Sankata FC got their second win in the National League after defeating Chitlang FC at the ANFA Complex, Satdobato on Friday.
Sankata were struggling in the tournament with one win and three draws in their last seven matches.
After a 4-0 win over Kankrebihar Youth Club on January 18, Sankata had yet to find a happy moment. And it came on Friday.
Sankata registered a 4-0 victory over Chitlang on the back of a hat-trick by Richard Chukwudalu Onyema.
It did not even take a minute for Onyema to score his first goal of the tournament. And he made it 3-0 in 45+2 minutes, after Taye Daniel Badaru had extended the lead in the 35th.
There was only one goal in the second half, which Onyema scored in the 75th to complete his hat-trick.
On the other hand, Laligurans Association Club continued their unbeaten streak in the tournament after a 1-1 draw with Friends’ Club Kopundole in the other match of the day.
Saroj Gurung scored for Laligurans in the 26th. Jenish Prajapati then equalised for Friends’ Club in the 76th.
With the draw, Laligurans now have 18 points from eight matches. Friends’ Club, meanwhile, have six points from eight games.
But Laligurans are likely to be in trouble in the upcoming matches, as one of their key players, Ram Thapa, is heading to Australia for better options.
