Karnali maintain perfect start

Karnali Yashvis continued their winning start in the Everest Women’s Volleyball League as they defeated Lalitpur Queens in straight sets of 3-0 at the National Sports Council’s covered hall in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
Lalitpur, who ended Tuesday on the top of table with a 25-15, 26-24, 24-26, 25-23 victory over Madhesh United in the evening late fixture, started the day’s event on Wednesday and battled till the end but lost each set by a thin margin.
Karnali won the first and the second sets 25-22, 25-22 and were 9-1 behind at one point in the third set. But they fought back to rally to a 29-27 victory.
It was their third victory in as many matches as they now remain the only team to keep an unbeaten streak in the league.

The victory also fired Karnali to the summit of the standings with eight points. Lalitpur, who have two victories, are on six points.
The top two teams at the end of the single round robin league will progress into the final, which is taking place on October 5.
