Police claim third straight win

Nepal Police Club women’s team registered their third victory in a row on Tuesday in the Prime Minister Cup NVA Club Volleyball Championships in Tripureshwar, Kathmandu to strengthen their bid for the final.
Police defeated their departmental rivals Tribhuvan Army Club in straight sets of 25-18, 25-12, 25-18 to inflict the latter second defeat in a row. Police, who had pulled off straight-set wins over Gandaki Province and Everest Volleyball Training Club, are on top of the standings with nine points from three games.
Army, who were defeated in 3-2 set by Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) Club in their first game on Tuesday, have one point.
In another match, New Diamond recorded a comfortable victory over Everest with scores of 25-17, 25-12, 25-12 for a second straight victory. They had defeated Gandaki in straight sets on Sunday and have earned six points from two games.
The opening match of the day saw APF crush Gandaki in straight sets of 25-12, 25-18, 25-8. APF are behind New Diamond on five points. Everest and Gandaki, who have played two and three matches respectively, are yet to open scoring in the standings.
In the men’s section, Help Nepal saw off Dawali Milan Club in straight sets of 25-17, 25-22, 25-11 to pull off their second win. They had edged Sailung Baghdhunga Sports Club in similar fashion on Sunday.
Army’s men team edged Gandaki, studded with three Indian players, with scores of 25-19, 26-24, 33-31 to lead standings on nine points from three games. Gandaki have one point from as many games.
