Nepal Sports Journalists Forum wins Best Sports Media Association

Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF) has won the Best Sports Media Association of the Year 2022 during an Award Ceremony of AIPS Asia in Seoul, South Korea, on Tuesday.
NSJF, the umbrella organisation of sports journalists of Nepal, along with Bangladesh Sports Press Union were jointly feted with the award during a ceremony organised at the 24th congress of AIPS Asia – the international federation of sports journalists of Asia.
NSJF general secretary Prajwal Oli and executive member Nishan Rai, who represented Nepal in the Congress, collected the award handed over to them by AIPS Asia President He Don Jung.
According to He Don Jung, the two member associations of AIPS Asia were awarded in recognition of their outstanding work for the development and promotion of professional sports journalism and sports in the country. “NSJF is one of the most active member associations of AIPS Asia. According to our reports, they have been organising different activities throughout the year for promotion of sports journalism and the sports sector in Nepal. I congratulate them,” he said.
NSJF General Secretary Oli thanked AIPS Asia for the award and said they won the award due to hard work of all members of the organisation. “We are hopeful that the award will infuse us with positive vibes to work for betterment of sports journalism in the country,” said Oli.
The AIPS Asia also feted its former president Gap-Chul Park of Korea, former member Manouchehr Zandi of Iran and Youssef Berjawi of Lebanon were honoured with AIPS Asia Legends award for the long contribution to AIPS Asia and sports journalism.
Qatar Sports Press Union won best organiser award, Saudi Arabia Sports Press Union got best supporter and He Don Jung best president award respectively.
The congress also approved the financial report of AIPS Asian treasurer Niranjan Rajbanshi, who is also former NSJF president, and progress report of general secretary Amjad Aziz Malik.
