Week-long programme marks Table Tennis Day

Table tennis coach Naresh Rawal organised a week-long World Table Tennis Day (WTTD) programme at Stag Saroj’s Table Tennis For All Club at Samakhushi, Kathmandu.
Around 100 players aged below 16, participated at the event, which concluded on Sunday. The event was organised to celebrate WTTD that falls on April 23. It was the third year in a row that the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) level 2 coach and international umpire Rawal conducted such a programme.
The event, organised in two phases, saw training and competitions apart from distribution of shirts, racquets and balls. Ratul Gurung (boys’ U-16), Ojashwi Shrestha (girls’ U-16), Anmol Gurung (boys’ U-14), Nevidita Karna (girls’ U-14), Yathart Bajesaria (boys’ U-14) and Odila Shakya (girls’ U-12) secured gold medals in their respective age categories.
All Nepal Table Tennis Association president Chaturananda Rajvaidya and general secretary Shanker Gautam gave away the prizes to the winners.
