Lama-led team clinch Pro-Am title

Pro Sanjay Lama-led team clinched Surya Nepal Western Open Pro-Am title at the par-69 Himalayan Golf Course on Saturday.
Lama, teamed up with amateurs Raju Thakali, Santosh Gurung and Sudarshan Silwal, collected 138 points to secure the top finish. Pro Lama and amateur golfer Silwal scored 34 points each, while Thakali and Gurung garnered 35 points apiece.
Team led by pro Niraj Tamang (32) and amateurs Sushma Sigdel (32), Deepak Karki (30) and Arjun Kumar Karki (29) finished runners-up with a total score of 123 points. Pro Bal Bhadra Rai (28) and amateurs Rajendra Gauchan (28), Sandesh Sigdel (28), and Rabindra Tiwari (38) secured third position with a total 107 points.
Sushma Sigdel won the best female score award with 32 points, while Prakash Gurung earned the longest drive and Deepak Karki won closest to the pin award.
Top scorer pro was teamed up with top three amateurs for the winning team. The fourth, fifth and sixth amateurs were teamed up with the second-best professional scorer for the runner-up team and those amateurs finishing seventh, eighth and ninth were teamed up with the third-best professional for the second runner-up team.
Altogether, 70 golfers including 15 pros took part in the Pro-Am event played under stableford full handicap format. PGA Nepal President Rabindra Man Shrestha, Nepal Golf Association President Tashi Ghale, Director of Himalayan Golf Course Kiran KC gave away the prizes to the winners.
Dharan pro Sukra Bahadur Rai on Friday claimed the 54-hole event with the total score of one-under 206. Sanjay Lama and Bhuvan Nagarkoti finished joint second at one-over 208.
