Surya Nepal Kathmandu Open kicks off today

The season opening event of the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2022-23, Surya Nepal Kathmandu Open is set to commence at the Royal Nepal Golf Club on Tuesday.
The event will be played over 72 holes in which a cut will be applied after two rounds (36 holes). Only top 21 pros and ties will make their journey to the final 36 holes along with amateurs.
A total of 31 professional golfers will test their skills for a total prize money of Rs670,000. The winner will bag a purse of Rs116,000 and the runner–up will earn Rs74,000. The third-place finisher will take home Rs63,000.
Five amateurs will rub shoulders with the professionals in this tournament.
Nepal number one and regular on the Professional Golf Tour of India, Sukra Bahadur Rai, Bhuwan Nagarkoti, Dhana Thapa, Sanjay Lama, Rame Magar are the main contenders in the event.
“The Surya Nepal Golf Tour is in its 15th year and it is an excellent platform for competitive golf in Nepal for both professional and amateurs.
