Bir Ganeshman Singh 10K Road Race to take place on March 20

The second edition of Bir Ganeshman Singh 10K Road Race is set to be held on March 20 in Kathmandu. The event, which is being organised by Bir Ganeshman Sports Committee under Ganeshman Singh Foundation, will have races in both men's and women's categories.
Sanjeev Tuladhar, the committee’s coordinator, said around 500 people are expected to participate in the 10km race, which will begin from Sherpa Mall, Durbarmarg, and finish at the same point.
The top three players of both categories will be rewarded with cash prizes of Rs 60,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively. Similarly, the fourth and fifth place finishers will get Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 while the runners who finish between sixth to tenth place will get gift hampers worth Rs 4,000 each.
The winners will get an additional reward of Rs 10,000 if they beat the last edition's best timing.
The 13th South Asian Games gold medalists Santosh Shrestha (39 minute 10.98 second) and Gopi Chandra Parki (32 minute 01.2 second) are the defending champions.
