Women's league to have double leg games
The winner of the month-long tournament will bag a purse of Rs 1.5 million while the second to fourth placed teams will get Rs 800,000, Rs 500,000 and Rs 300,000 respectively.Sports Bureau
National Women's Football League is set to begin on January 20 in the Capital under the double leg format, according to the football governing body All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).
This is the first time the women's tournament is set to have two legs – each team will compete against another twice in the event. The tournament will feature seven teams including Tribhuvan Army Football Club, Nepal APF Club, Nepal Police Club, Chaudandigadhi Municipality, Biratnagar Metropolitan City, Waling Municipality and Chandrapur Municipality. The opening and closing ceremonies will be held at Dasharath Stadium and other matches at ANFA Complex.

Each team will have 30 members including 23 players and seven officials. They can also sign and play up to four foreign players. The best player of the league will ride a two wheeler while the best striker, midfielder, defender, goalkeeper and coach will receive Rs 50,000 each.
Each team has been allocated preparation fees of Rs 100,000 apart from Rs 50,000 as Covid Relief Fund. ANFA will provide food and accommodation for the teams and also isolation facilities if any players or officials develop Covid-19 symptoms.
