Medal-winning bodybuilding winners get cash incentives

Nepal Bodybuilding and Fitness Association President Rajesh Babu Shrestha personally felicitated the winners of the 12th South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships with cash rewards in Kathmandu on Monday.
Shrestha handed over a total Rs 480,000 to 16 Nepali bodybuilders who won medals in the championships held on July 18-21 in Kathmandu. Gold medallists Samir Shrestha (65kg), Naresh Malakar (men's athletic physique over 167cm) and Mallika Shakya (women's model physique) were rewarded with Rs 50,000 each.
The seven silver medallists—Kamal Bhandari (60kg), Ramesh Karki (70kg), Nishant Man Pradhan (men's athletic physique up to 167cm), Raju Rai (men's fitness physique) Pramod Rai (men's sports physique up to 170cm), Rajani Shrestha (women's athletic physique) and Pooja Shrestha (women's model physique)—received Rs 30,000 each.
The bronze medallists got Rs 20,000 each. Kishan Das Diwakar (55kg), Prajwol Man Shakya (65kg), Ashok Maharjan (75kg), Milan Sijapati (85kg), Krishna Maharjan (men's junior bodybuilding) and Sujita Maharjan (women's athletic physique) had secured bronze medals in the event that saw participation of 91 bodybuilders from six South Asian nations.
